Luxury Bathroom Layouts

Here is how to create easy luxury bathroom layouts for your project.

Layouts for Your Luxury Bath

One of the best tools that homeowners have at their disposal for designing luxury bathrooms is to create a layout. You don't need to be an architect to create a scale or layout of your dream bath, and the rewards are well worth the effort.

Visualizing the fixtures that you'd like to have in your luxury bath isn't enough. It takes more than a good idea to create a bathroom that maximizes the best use of space and creates a pleasant atmosphere.

The layout or overall design of the bathroom must be carefully planned and well thought out. The best way to ensure that your design makes the transition from visualization to reality is to create a layout on graph paper.

Your layout can be drawn on graph paper by hand, or on a computer with specifically designed software. Either method is fine; the object is to draw your layout to scale so that you can see a clear picture of how your new bathroom will look when completed.

It's important to understand a bit about where the plumbing and pipe work is located in your bath as well, especially if you are planning on tearing down walls, or other remodelling.

However, if you are planning on keeping the existing structures, such as the shower, bath, toilet, and sink in the same location then you can just transfer these locations onto your layout.

Once you've determined the size of your bathroom, put these measurements on your graph or computer program. If drawing, fill in where the walls are located and add objects such as the windows and doors.

Remember to include any objects or fixtures that aren't going to be moved or changed. Add electrical outlets and water sources in your layout.

These points will come in handy when its time to add fixtures. Knowing where electrical outlets are located will save any problems in the future.

Once you've decided the size for these items, draw them on your layout.

After these are completed, you might find it best to stop for a while and assess your layout.

Look at how much space is available and then consider the luxury items you'd like to add. You'll also need to verify that there is ample walkway and space for easy movement in the bathroom.

Including Your Focal Points

Some points to take into consideration include focal points, the light sources (including natural and artificial lighting), what are the first items noticed upon entering the bathroom, whether or not the toilet or bidet is easily visible (it is often recommended to keep these fixtures out of direct view) and what type of flooring you'll choose.

If using tiles what type design you prefer, and whether or not the home's overall architectural design extends to the bathroom or are you going to design the bathroom in a different style.

If there are architectural elements already existing in the bathroom, then you might find it's best to stay with that theme.

By creating your luxury bathroom layouts on paper or through a computer program first, you can ensure that your dream bath will become a reality and that your project will flow smoothly.
