Basic Lip Balm Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 to 1 teaspoon essential oil
1 teaspoon glycerine or honey
1/4 ounce of beeswax
1/4 cup nut oil or vegetable
Heat beeswax and oil in a double boiler (or microwave) until the beeswax is melted
Remove from heat source and whip mixture with an electric beater until creamy in texture
Add the glycerine or honey and about 4-5 drops of essential oil and whip again
Add more essential oil now if you want a stronger flavor
Store in small glass jars or pretty tins.
Lip Balm Tips
When should you throw away homemade lip balm?
If your lip balm changes color, texture, or odor it is time to toss it.
It is best not to use food coloring in your lip gloss as it contains alcohol which has a drying effect on skin. Also avoid food extracts for the same reason.
Aloa Vera Lip Balms
1/2 Vitamin E capsule
1/2 teaspoon Aloa Vera Gel
3 ounces beeswax
4 ounces extra virgin olive oil
Mix the beeswax and oil in microwave or on top of double boiler
Add the rest of the ingredients and package into small containers
Basic Lip Balm Recipe
Ingredients:
1 capsule of Vitamin E
1 ounce beeswax
4 ounces Almond Oil Flavoring or Essential Oil
Combine almond oil and beeswax
Warm slowly just until the beeswax is melted
Remove from heat
Pierce Vitamin E capsule with pin and squeeze into the mixture
Add ½ teaspoon of flavoring or up to 5 drops of essential oil and mix well
Pour into small jars or containers with lids
Note
Another carrier oil can be substituted for the Almond oil, but do not use mineral oil
Beeswax Lip Balm
This recipe makes about ¼ cup
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 tablespoons beeswax
Melt ingredients over a double boiler stirring constantly
Pour into a container while hot as mixture will harden as it cools down

Take any eye shadow break it up into small pieces and mix it with Vaseline or beeswax

Chocolate Kiss Lip Balm
Ingredients
1/8 teaspoon Vitamin E oil (Pick with pin to open)
1/4 teaspoon grated chocolate or 3-4 small chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1 1/2 teaspoons grated cocoa powder
Mix the beeswax and oil in microwave or on top of double boiler
Add the rest of the ingredients and package into small containers
Honey Cocoa Lip Balm
Ingredients:
3 drops essential oil
1 Vitamin E capsule
½ teaspoon beeswax
½ teaspoon cocoa butter
½ teaspoon honey
2 teaspoons olive oil
Measure the oil, beeswax and cocoa butter into a glass or enamel pan
Melt carefully over low heat
Stir constantly just until the wax is melted
Remove from heat
Stir in honey and essential oil
Pricks open the Vitamin E capsule and squeeze the contents into the mixture
Stir until well blended

Cocoa Cream Lip Balm
Ingredients
1/2 capsule Vitamin E
1/2 teaspoon cocoa
3 ounces beeswax
4 ounces extra virgin olive oil
Mix the beeswax and oil in microwave or on top of double boiler

Hemp Oil Lip Balm
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon hemp seed oil
1 tablespoon castor oil
1 tablespoon sunflower oil
1 tablespoon beeswax
1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons coconut oil
Essential Oil to taste
Melt wax and coconut oil together
Add honey and heat just a little on low setting stirring constantly
Add sunflower oil and caster oil
As mixture begins to thicken add hempseed oil and your choice of essential oil
Stir constantly until mixture thickens

Honey Beeswax Lip Balm
Ingredients
1/2 Vitamin E capsule (prick with pin to open)
1 ounce honey
3 ounces beeswax
4 ounces extra virgin olive oil
Mix the beeswax and oil in microwave or on top of double boiler

Honey Lip Balm
Ingredients
Flavored oil of your choice
1 Vitamin E capsule
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon cocoa butter
3/4 teaspoon grated beeswax
2 tablespoons olive oil
Combine oil, honey, wax and butter in a small saucepan and melt over low heat
Remove from heat and allow cooling for a few minutes
Add flavoring and contents of vitamin E capsule and stir well
Pour into your containers and cover
Honey Bee Balm
Ingredients:
1 to 4 drops of Essential Oil
1 Vitamin E Capsule (as a preservative)
2 teaspoons honey
½ ounce Beeswax or Beeswax pellets
3 ounces Almond Oil
Mix the almond oil and beeswax together in a microwave-safe bowl
Microwave for a couple of minutes or until the mixture is completely melted
If you do not have a microwave use a double boiler on your stove top or heat in a pan of water on a stovetop
Stir the mixture often until the wax is melted
Remove from heat and stir in the honey and essential oil
Prick the vitamin E capsule with pin and squeeze the contents into the mixture
Stir again and set aside and let cool completely
When cooled place in small containers with lids.
Nude Lip Balm
Ingredients:
1/4 teaspoon Aloe Vera lotion
1/4 teaspoon of your liquid foundation makeup
1 tablespoon Vaseline
Mix all ingredients together well in a small bowl using cotton swab
You can omit the Aloe Vera lotion but it does add a soothing property
Nut Oil Lip Balm
Caution Nut Allergies
Ingredients:
Spearmint and/or peppermint flavoring oil
1 ½ parts cocoa butter
1 ½ parts grated beeswax
3 parts edible vegetable oil of your choice
Note:
Choose from almond, apricot kernel, avocado, extra virgin olive, hemp seed, jojoba, kukui nut,
macadamia nut or castor oil.
Melt cocoa butter and beeswax slowly and carefully in a microwave, or over a double
boiler on the stove until melted
Add the oil and stir well
Add spearmint or peppermint flavoring oils/or both a few drops at a time to taste
Cool slightly before pouring into containers
To test the consistency of mixture place a drop or two on a spoon and place in refrigerator and let cool for a few minutes
Test on your lips, for a harder lip balm add more beeswax, for a softer lip balk add more oil
Olive Oil Lip Balm
This lip balm will give you silky smooth lips
Ingredients:
1 Vitamin E Capsule
Few drops your choice flavored oil
½ teaspoon Grated Beeswax or Beeswax Pellets
½ teaspoon Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
½ teaspoon Honey
2 teaspoons Olive Oil
Mix all ingredients together except the flavored oil in a microwave-safe bowl or stovetop
Heat for a couple of minutes or until the mixture is completely melted
Stir well and add the flavored oil
Let sit for 5 minutes or until mixture is cooled
Stir again and set aside to cool completely
Place into a small plastic container or tin and cover
Peppermint Lip Balm
Ingredients:
10 to 14 drops of peppermint Essential Oil
1 teaspoon beeswax
2 tablespoons petroleum jelly
In small pot melt the petroleum jelly
Add beeswax and when melted remove from heat
Add peppermint Essential Oil
Pour into a lip pots or small containers and let cool
Therapeutic Lip Balms
Cold Sore Lip Balm
Ingredients:
2 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
3 Drops Lime Essential Oil
6 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
1/2 ounce shaved Beeswax or Beeswax Pellets
1/4 ounce Aloe Vera Gel
1 ounce Emu Oil
1 ounce Almond Oil
1 ounce Avocado Oil
Mix together the emu, almond, and avocado oils with the beeswax in a microwave-safe bowl
Microwave 1 to 2 minutes or until the mixture is completely melted checking and stirring often
Add aloe vera gel
Remove from the heat and stir in essential oils
Stir again and set aside to cool completely
When cool transfer into small portable plastic containers
Sores And Dry Cracked Lips Balm
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon tea tree oil
2 teaspoons pure honey
½ ounce beeswax
3 ounces almond oil
Melt all the ingredients together over low heat until melted
Remove from heat and stir while mixture cools
Pour into container and cover
Vanilla Lip Balm
Ingredients:
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 tsp coconut oil
1 tablespoon Petroleum Jelly
1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel
Mix all ingredients and melt in microwave or double boiler
Cool and package
Vaseline Lip Balm
Ingredients
Flavoring of you choice
1 part beeswax
3 parts Vaseline
Melt and blend ingredients with a spoon until smooth
