The reason it has so many names is because women have spent so many years obsessing over how it looks in pants and what can make it smaller, bigger, softer and more toned.
Yet, with all of this obsession, we don't seem to be getting very far in worrying about it any less. Let's look at some ideas on how you can get the butt you want in a reasonable amount of time without having to worry and fuss about what you can wear to cover it.
1. Smooth and Soft
Even though the butt is rarely exposed to as much sunlight as the rest of our bodies, it can get extremely dry. Some people complain of little red dots and rough skin on the bum. In fact, the red dots are very common. What most people don't know is that even though those dots appear to be from oily skin, they are actually caused by dry skin.
The body tries to overcompensate for the lack of oil by producing it in those areas causing tiny pimples to form over dry skin The best way to get rid of these dots and add that smooth, creamy factor, is by gently exfoliating and moisturizing immediately.
If you have it quite badly, use petroleum jelly or an intensive moisturizer. Allow it to dry for a moment and carry on as normal. Moisturizing your butt should form part of your after-bath routine every morning or night for a smooth soft bum.
2. Toned and Tight
Most butt exercises target the area and won't get you too out of breath too quickly however they will burn! If you want a smaller butt, it is important to start off with cardiovascular exercise. This is the best way to burn off fat and start losing weight. Once you have a regular cardio routine, incorporate leg-lifts into your workout. This means standing against the wall (facing) and lifting your legs backwards targeting the butt and lifting it.
What most people don't realize is that you can do butt exercises anywhere! Next time you are sitting waiting in a line for hours, clench your butt and keep your back up straight. If you do this every day, it will take no extra time, improve your posture and improve the shape and "perkiness" of your butt and give you a toned tight bum.
3. Panty-lines Away!
One of the most annoying things about our bums is the tan line that is created by bikini bottoms but then again, most of us wouldn't go running around the beach naked or walking around with no pants on.
Never fear though, there are some easy tips to eradicate those pesky tan lines.
Next time you go to the beach or expose your butt to the sun, massage an extra layer of sunscreen around the bikini line and be sure to apply there more often, this goes for the top half of your body as well.
Also, when you're home alone, get in to the garden or out to the deck in a thong, as long as no one will see of course. A little privacy may be needed to get bum perfect.
