To grow extreme long hair you need a lot of patience and a lot of time.
These hair lengths go past waist length to body length and even floor length.
Women who grow their hair to these extreme lengths most likely loved long hair as a little girl or as a teen, and they just let it grow.
This hair has become part of their identity and it is rare for a women to cut off 5 to 6 feet of hair.
However some do for the sake of charity, donating their hair for wigs or fund raising causes.
Extreme long lengths can be left natural, but for safety sake, there are times when it needs to braided or styled with ponytails.
While the above waist length hair may not break records, it is extreme enough for us!

Her length: Asha grew her body length hair to 55 feet, wearing her hair in Dreadlocks.
"My hair has become a part of me. It is my life. I will never cut it".
"Cutting it would be equivalent to suicide. It would be like being a zombie."
It is reported that it takes Asha up to 2 days to wash and her hair. She enlists the help of family and friends to actually carry her hair when she goes out.

On May 8, 2004 Xie's hair was measured to be 18 ft. 5.54 in. Xie Qiuping began her long hair journey in 1973 at the age of 13.
