Effects Of Aging To Your Skin

Skin Care to Prevent the Effects of Aging
We can not totally stop the effects of aging to our skin, but we can slow it down. As we get older our skin begins to lose its elasticity and its healthy glow can fade.
Care of our skin at this time of life is very important. It is possible to defend your skin against these effects of aging by adopting a regular daily, skin care routine and adapting your lifestyle as well. So if you have started to notice wrinkles appearing, grey hairs and maybe you are getting a little forgetful, now is the time to take action. Preventative measures in earlier life play a big part in slowing down the ageing process but we can still attempt to slow it down more when it happens.
Lifestyle
As we get older it is necessary to look after our bodies more and adopt a healthier lifestyle. To keep ourselves in good condition we need to make adjustments to our diet and our way of life:
- A healthy diet is very important. Plenty of fruit and vegetables and adequate fiber in your diet will keep your skin looking fresher and make your bodily functions more regular.
- Drink plenty of water; it is necessary to drink two liters of water a day to maintain optimum health. Reduce your alcohol intake as this will have an ageing effect on the skin and certainly won't help the forgetfulness.
- Take regular non-strenuous exercise.
- You should also avoid exposure to the sun. Always uses a good sunscreen, wear a wide brimmed hat and protect your eyes with sunglasses. The sun has a detrimental effect on your skin and also there is a danger of getting malignant melanoma (skin cancer.) Thin long sleeved tops and loose trousers may be worn to avoid becoming exposed to the sun. It is also important to protect your face in extreme wind and cold.
If you follow these ideas it can help delay the ageing process and aging effects to your skin. It will also help to keep you healthy and avoid illnesses which can only be a good thing.
Skin Care Routine
Care of the skin from our teens onwards contributes to the delay of the aging process on the skin. A good skin care routine through our life can have a phenomenal effect in later life. This process should be continued as we get older and added to this can be the use of anti-ageing products. There are a wide choice of these available and if you need advice, ask at the beauty counter of any department store and they will be happy to help you. It is also important to check your skin regularly and note any changes, it may be necessary to change your skin creams periodically.
In the summer use a high factor sun cream and plenty of after sun, in the winter regularly use a rich moisturizing cream and also a good hand cream. You can also apply foot cream to your feet after a bath or shower and this will help prevent the build-up if hard skin. The aging process and the effects of aging is a fact of nature which none of us can avoid; all that we can hope to do is to slow it down a little.
