Clean Out Your Clothes Closet

You should clean out your clothes closet on a yearly basis. Is it your time to clear, clean and organize your closet?

Cleaning Clothes Closets

You know the time has come to clean out your clothes closet when you are late for a party and you can't find anything in your wardrobe that is suitable and all your tangled items of clothing make it difficult for you to find your desired garment.

However you will not be able to deal with everything instantly. Cleaning clothes closets requires time and consideration.

Your first step is taking out all of your clothes and deciding which items you wear on a regular basis. You can then place these neatly back in your closet.

Anything that you don't wear or probably won't wear again can be given to friends, charities or sold on eBay. Yes, we know this is likely to freak you out!

But if you are a shopaholic that has hundreds of clothing items that don't fit or you don't even really like, get rid of them! You can always purchase more that are more suited to you!

Sometimes even the thought of having to clear and clean out your clothes closet may leave you feeling demotivated.

This is normal but you need to do it unless you want your situation to get worse.

If you put your mind to it you can complete the whole task within one day and once you have done the initial clear out you can then maintain it on a weekly or monthly basis.

This shouldn't take more than a couple of hours at most.

Trust me, the feeling you will get when you initially clean your clothes closet will be immense!

You will feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders and you will be enthusiastic about making your future clothing choices.

Clothing Priorities

So how do you put your clothing priorities in order? After deciding which you are going to keep and which are going to go you should already have a lighter and more manageable closet.

Whilst donating or selling on old garments you might feel the urge to flick through some fashion magazines looking for the newest trends.

By all means treat yourself to some of these new fashion items but don't let yourself fall into your old ways – if you probably won't wear it, don't buy it!

If you are a true fashionista you know that some items stay in fashion constantly whilst others come and go with the seasons.
