Brigitte Bardot Makeup was sexy. Very sexy. This gorgeous French model turned icon Brigitte Bardot was the height of sexy in those swingin’ sixties.
With tousled hair and those come hither eyes, her look defined – and still defines – the irresistible bedroom chic that is so wildly sought after still today.
Just take a look at bombshells like Kim Kardashian, Adele, Scarlett Johansson, and Beyonce to catch a glimpse of the modern Brigitte Bardot makeup influence.
Bedroom eyes begin with a swipe of crease proof eye shadow base, like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. Apply just a dab with your ring finger to keep your eyes as fresh as when first applied.
Ms. Bardot used a basic black shadow to smoke out her eyes, and Sugarpill Bulletproof is a great one. Using a small shadow brush, tap off the excess and lightly apply your dark shadow all over the lid.
Smokey Eyes Make Up Tips
Focus most of the application closest to the lash line and blending out just to the crease of the eye. When working with strong pigments, a little goes a long way, so be sure to add just a bit of color and build to desired intensity.
Continue to blend and extend shadow past the outer corner of the eye to lend even more of a cat eye shape – ideally splitting the difference between a coy pin-up and Cleopatra.
Next go in with your liquid liner to line the upper lid, again extending beyond the outer corner of the eye and adding a bit of that cat-eyed flick at the end.
The lower inner lid is lined with a white or flesh-colored liner (Inglot Matte Gel Liner stays put even on that slippy waterline) to open and brighten, and a black pencil is smudged into the outer corners of the lower lashes, almost halfway in on the eye.
Finish off those bedroom eyes with many coats of a high-on-drama mascara like Dior Show Mascara, or Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash.
