Need a Bohemian Go Go girl costume?
Dressing Up The Seventies
From Twiggy to James Bond, there are some amazing iconic images to have come out of the sixties and seventies and some even more amazing fashions!
Whether you were there the first time round or just a twinkle in your parents eyes back then, there is no reason you can’t rock a little retro wear this Halloween as a super cute and flirty bohemian go-go girl.
This is a pretty simple costume to replicate or do yourself. Start with a super short dress, preferably one with either cap sleeves or, better still, full bell sleeves and a high-ish neckline.
Find it in a loud, Pucci-esque or paisley print and you will be on the right track. Keep it simple, no frills or lace. Sling a wide white belt low around your hips and you’ll be good to go.
Partner this very cute little dress with a pair of fishnet tights in either a bright color that matches your dress, or a white or black pair.
The absolute must for any go-go girl is of course, go-go boots!
Snag your very own pair in white patent leather with a chunky heel to ensure that you can boogie the night away.
Find yourself some big mod jewelry in coordinating colors.
Look for big chunky plastic bangle bracelets, or a long peace sign pendant and earrings. Add a huge plastic ring in a bright color as a finishing touch!
Bohemian Go Go Girl Hairstyle Ideas
Now, back in the day girls had to lie their heads on the ironing board to get their hair straight, but we’ve got it much easier now!
Keep hair sleek and smooth by first applying a bit of straightening balm to slightly damp hair.
Spritz a volumizing spray into the roots, and start drying with a blow dryer and a ventilated round brush, blowing hair up and away, and flipping the ends out.
Once hair is dry, finish with a good flexible hold spray to add a bit of shine.
A wide headband or scarf tied around the head will add an additional touch of mod, and doing a little backcombing behind the headband will complete your hair.
